Mr. Sonshine is currently the Non-Executive Chairman of Riocan Real Estate Investment Trust, one of Canada’s largest REITs. Mr. Sonshine is the founder and was the Chief Executive Officer of Riocan until March of 2021. He was admitted to the Order of Ontario in 2011 and in 2013 was named Canada’s CEO of the Year. Mr. Sonshine is also a former Director of the Royal Bank of Canada and Cineplex Inc.
Catherine Barbaro is the former Senior Managing Director, Strategic Development and Management of Alternative Investment Funds for Manulife Private Markets. Ms. Barbaro established Manulife’s private real estate funds business in 2011 and subsequently, through various senior roles at Manulife, was instrumental in expanding Manulife’s products and asset management platform globally to also include private equity, private credit, and infrastructure. Catherine’s career in executing business strategies for public and private companies spans over 25 years. She is a graduate of York University and holds a law degree from the University of Windsor. Ms. Barbaro is also a former director of CAPREIT and The Power Plant.
Mr. Davloor is currently the Board Chair of the Tridel Group of Operating Companies, having transitioned from Executive Vice-President, Finance & Strategy. Over the course of his career, Mr. Davloor was RioCan’s President and COO, responsible for real estate operations, leasing, development and construction for a portfolio of 300 retail opportunities and 40 million square feet, including 15 properties under development, as well as Vice-President and Director for the Real Estate Investment Banking Group of TD Securities. Mr. Davloor obtained the Chartered Accountant designation and practiced tax and real estate advisory services at Arthur Andersen & Co
Robert J. Day, founded Pawnee Leasing Corporation in 1982 and continues to serve on the board of directors of both Pawnee Leasing Corporation and Chesswood Group Limited. Mr. Day received his B.S. degree in Finance from the University of Tennessee in 1965. Following graduation he spent four years with the U.S. Marine Corps. Upon discharge from the Marines, he spent two years in banking and finance before returning to school and obtaining a degree in Optometry from Southern California College of Optometry in 1976.
Mr. Steiner is founder and former Chief Executive Officer of Imperial Coffee and Services Inc., a company he started in 1974. Imperial is the largest independent coffee and vending company in Canada. Mr. Steiner, Chesswood's third largest shareholder, has extensive business experience in the United States. Mr. Steiner, a co-founder of Chesswood Group, has been a board member and Chair of the Audit Committee of Chesswood and its predecessor organizations, since its inception, over 15 years ago.
